Looking For Other Civilians Who Have Contracted GWI

I am a Navy Veteran who left the service almost three years
before Operation Desert Storm. I was never there, but have
been diagnosed with the Mycoplasma Species that has been
found in Gulf War Veterans.

My belief is that I contracted this through driving a taxi out of the Philadelphia International Airport between the years of 1990 and 1992. During this time I was in close personal contact with hundreds of our U.S. troops coming home from the Persian Gulf. Most were still in uniform as well as having to carry their duffle bags.

I am looking for as much information as I can find on how this disease is being transmitted. I also feel that the American public needs to have access to this information. I couldn't find one doctor who knows anything about Mycoplasma Species and I had to research this myself and ask to have a test taken.

This test is a special DNA blood test that must search for the virus on the inter cell level in the DNA. This is my understanding from the reports I received from the lab.

There is only one lab in the country that can perform this test on civilians. You must send your blood samples by express mail within 24 hours.

On this site I will have a list of symptoms, a research report, links to other sites about Gulf War Illness. I will also give out the name and address of the lab, if you feel you need to be tested.

If anyone has any information that you think may be useful for this site, please email me at: gmryan@webtv.net
